QUESTION TAGS

Question tag is a sophisticated ending of the sentence which emphasizes our comprehension of the sentence together with asking for an agreement and making sure that the fact we’ve heard is correct. It may appear only when the sentence is a positive or negative statement and it always negates the main verb (as the main verb is positive, the question tag is negative and as it’s negative, the question tag will be positive). The question tag is generally an operator ‘do’ or another auxiliary verb in a proper tense and form.

"Question tag" jest wyrafinowaną formą zakończenia zdania podkreślające nasze zrozumienie sensu zdania, zapytanie o zgodę lub o potwierdzenie naszej interpretacji. Oznacza polskie "nieprawdaż". Może pojawić się tylko, gdy zdanie jest twierdzące lub przeczące i zawsze zaprzecza główny czasownik (gdy główny czasownik jest twierdzący - question tag jest przeczący, a gdy przeczący – question tag jest twierdzący). „Question Tag” jest zwykle operatorem ‘do’ lub innym czasownikiem pomocniczym w poprawnym czasie i formie.

 Sentences with the ‘to be’ form: Zdania z formą ‘to be’:

Exceptions when we don’t negate the verb: Wyjątki gdy nie zaprzeczmy czasownika:

We don't deny the main verb in the question tag, when we'd like to stress our interest in this case or when we ask a question by a question tag.

Nie zaprzeczamy głównego czasownika w strukturze ‘question tag’, gdy chcemy podkreślić nasze zainteresowanie i zdziwienie dana sprawą, lub gdy poprzez ta formę chcemy się o coś zapytać.
